Buy this if you want to pay more than other brands but will get thrown under the bus by battery tender technicians when the unit fails, which it will.Their quality has gone down hill since their first units. The warranty department will go out of their way to blame you for “abuse” so they don’t have to repair or replace your unit after you waste shipping expenses and boxing materials. A little surface rust on the chrome plated screw is “abuse.” This is an item that sits in the garage, non air conditioned. Honestly I got an older cheap coat rack on the wall with cheap chrome plated screws and they are not rusting yet.They will not even send you back your old alligator clips when their cheap extremely low quality replacement is faulty and you request them back. The new replacement cable fuse is so cheap that you can’t even see if the filament is intact or not. Fuses are cheap, to buy these is really picking up Pennies on the floor. They claim putting electrical tape on their cables as “abuse.” Well if you had to reconnect their cheap failing alligator clips, it is prudent to use electrical tape. Their old alligator clips were better made.Don’t buy this brand expecting it to last longer and the company will definitely not stand by their warranty but blame you for abuse. Sitting in a garage is not abuse battery tender.Buy a Duracell branded charger/maintainer instead. Their chrome plated screws don’t rust in the garage and they are still working.Honestly I trusted battery tender in the past, but the last batch I bought have been a disaster, not lasting the warranty spand and the company looking for excuses to not repair or replace.Garages are not air conditioned. Humidity exists. The light fixtures don’t rust like a battery tender product Thanks God. Even my jack stands don’t rust like a battery tender product.

I didn't know what a battery tender was until the AAA battery service technician mentioned that I might want to look into getting one for a vehicle that wasn't being driven often. I did a little research and selected this one. It does what it is supposed to do and was easy to set up right out of the box.

I use 12 volt BatteryTender chargers with classic vehicles, go-karts, etc,, and was pleased to find this dual-voltage one for my WWII Jeep. I have found the BatteryTender brand to be very reliable.

This is my second battery tender. One for home and another for the cottage. I wouldn’t trust my batteries to another brand.
