The Ludwig ratchet wrench is much easier to use than a standard drum tightening key. It is easier to adjust when tuning. The Ludwig ratchet wrench is built well. The fit of the ratchet into the lugs are crisp. This is a good alternative to just using a regular drum key. Highly recommended. 5 Stars!

The wrench received did not appear to be a "Ludwig" branded tool. It was similar to the Gibralter wrench, except it had no brand name at all. The picture shows a red rubber sleeve with the "Ludwig" logo on it, which was missing from the one I received. (the Gibralter model is $6.00 cheaper, so I do not know what a generic no-name would be worth). I suspect they are all the same tool, but you would hope not when you are paying a premium price for a "Ludwig" tool.I wonder if Ludwig knows anything at all about this tool being sold under their name.

Ludwig products are awesome. This rating is for Amazon not Ludwig. The picture shows a Red handled Drum key torque wrench. I received an all Grey metal torque wrench. I called and Customer service said they would personally check the next one shipped and get it right. I received the wrong one again. Now I have to call back again and get both returned.

Pretty much a useless tool in my opinion, very misleading, in no way does it act like a torque drum key, should be called a ratchet drum key because that is all it does. It is a fast means of backing off tension rods, and you may get a bit more torque out of it then a drum key in high tension tuning. I would defiantly not recommend wasting almost $30 on this tool,
