Installed this on a brand new radiator connected to a 327 SBC in a ‘66 Chevy Impala that I’ve only had for about 3 months as I write this review, and so starts the learning process. My mechanic praised this radiator cap for accurately indicating the coolant temp because the engine was, unfortunately, overheating at idle, and we realized the temp gauge inside the car wasn’t functioning properly.

I used this on a 1967 Chrysler 300 which does not have a factory gauge only a cold and hot idiot light. Wanted a way to monitor temperature at times to make sure everything is operating correctly. In my case it was a take the old cap off and put this one on. No problems. I used a secondary digital thermometer, put the probe on the water pump housing to see if it agreed with the Mr Gaskit gauge and they were within about 5 degrees of each other. Close enough for what I need.

While I’m sure this works fine for other vehicles this review is more aimed at Amazon for listing this as a part which was verified to fit my 2002 Dodge Durango SLT 4x4 with the 4.7L V8. Well it does not!

Looks nice, works great, nice addition under the hood. I purchased this cap to compare the temp of the radiator to the temp gauge in the dash during heavy towing through the mountains. Works well...
