Bought this so I could raise the temperature in my tank to battle ich. I currently have had it set to 86F but the internal temperature is only reading 77F. I have a Tetra 100w heater and it kept the tank perfectly at 78F. Going to return this.

Love this heater it’s small but mighty. External temp control and really accurate. Can be adjusted in1 degree increments.Only wish that Nicrew would use allot less packaging save our planet 🌎

Nice and small for a 100 watt heater, temp control is on the power cable so make sure you put a drip loop before the controller otherwise you may ruin the controls with water running down the cable from the tank. Unit is calibrated properly and works well. I am using mine to heat a DIY 20 gal bioreactor. I wish the cable was easier to manipulate and I wish the temp controls were waterproof with some physical drop protection on them.

The only thing I am unsure of is accuracy. We've had a cool spring/summer.I needed a heater to boost temps high enough to foster beneficial bacteriaduring cooler weather.It took three days for the thermostat to find the balance, so to speak.It seems to run 1.5 degrees in Fahrenheit cooler than the dial on the on/off switch.**NOTE: the temperature dial does NOT light up, nor is it in color like the picture.Just straight, black plastic. It has done the job of raising temperature in a 20L,that's all I need it to do.

I sent back two Eheim heaters. They stayed at 78 out of the box, but they were very difficult to adjust and I honestly could get them to adjust any lower, and then that seemed to throw everything out of calibration. I took a chance on a couple of these Nicrews, a 100w for a 20g long, and a 200w for a 29g. I have had them just shy of a month and I am really happy with them. I have some Nicrew lights and they have been great too.

I purchased this for a 14 gallon still water cube aquarium. I have it set to 82 currently and am achieving about 65-69 degrees in tank with 60 degrees being about ambient. I would not recommend this heater. I would have been better off with a fixed 100 watt from petco or other.Perhaps it needs a lot of constant flow to prevent shut off.So if you're doing a low tech maybe it isn't for you.

After 48 hours I was able to find the sweet spot on the temperature setting adjustment knob. The knob is also difficult to turn. The settings on the dial are not accurate to the temp in the tank. So the heater turns off. But after tweaking I was able to find the setting I wanted. Just do not go by the numbers on the dial.

Like the short stick type heater, like the control adjustment is outside the water. would buy this again
