First off, yes, it works. But it's in no way up to the same quality as OE. The strap material is narrower and thinner, and more abrasive. So if you plan to use your helmet in a highly competitive league, get a real replacement from CCM or Bauer or whoever made your helmet. I needed a chin strap for my second helmet that I use to coach (coaches are required to wear a helmet on the ice), so this works.

This was literally the worst purchase I've ever made on Amazon. They sent two sets and both of them broke after three snaps each while on my couch testing them. I'm glad I tested them before bringing them on the ice (if those snaps fell off while on the ice it would create a serious hazard.) DO NOT BUY THESE. Buy some adhesive velcro instead.
