Will not work for honda ex with vtech engine (d16y8) they sent me another because I thought it was bad neither worked i gave 3 start because the customer service was decent

My OEM knock sensor physically disintegrated after 20+ years. Purchasing this off-brand sensor was a mistake. After install, I still had a faulty sensor code. When I removed it, I took apart the plastic casing and saw that the inner wire wasn't even soldered, so this sensor was DOA.On a 99 Civic EX, this sensor is located in a difficult place to access. Honda prices this sensor high because it knows these aftermarket options are a total gamble, but they're seriously not worth the headache... it's best to avoid this product and others like it... just go with OEM.

My original knock sensor from my 2000 EM1 needed replacing... usually I’d stick with OEM, but this was super cheap! Came in 2 days, installed it and no more CEL! I would always recommend OEM just in case this doesn’t work for you, but if you’re on a budget, try this out!

I had code P0325 on my 2000 civic EX. I read that it’s pointless to buy a part that wasn’t Honda for this issue. So far, the code is off and I don’t expect it to come back. It’s been a few weeks now.I suspect people that are having problems are dealing with wiring issues and not the sensor itself, being that the conditions are very extreme where the sensor and harness are located.
