These kits are great. Anyone with a Seastar hydraulic steering unit on their outboard needs to have a kit like this. There are a number of tutorial videos available showing how to bleed your system. I strongly recommend the bubble purge method. This kit is well made with nice quality parts. I have another kit with the plastic nipple that attaches to the bottle and these brass fittings are much nicer. Also, this kit has a brass quick-release fitting for screwing into the helm. This is a great detail to have as you can screw it in firmly and the o-ring prevents leaking, and when you're done the female quick-connect on the tube you have attached to the bottle seals and really cuts down on drips and leaks. One thing I would warn though is that you'll get some drips when you remove the fitting from the helm as the nipple will be filled with fluid. Not a huge deal, just have a rag handy. Still less drips and spills overall than other kits I have. The only grip I have is that the collar of the brass fitting that attaches to the bottle has a couple grooves machined in it (I assume for traction) and the edges are really sharp. Other than that, great kit for the money.
