The battery box worked for my purpose with some modifications. It’s designed to have spring contacts for the battery which are not with the boxes. To use a normal 9v connector I needed to modify the box that the battery sits in. This was for a custom modification to a guitar and not as a replacement, so it worked fine for me. It would be better if the spring contacts were with the boxes.

I think this item is fine for most applications. In my case I have several Ovation guitars that were missing the part that the battery snaps into. I was hoping that these would fit Ovation receiver, but they are not quite right and won't work as is. I may be able to trim them so they work, but my only other option would be to replace the part the battery holder slides into.
