Doesn't say what the encoding is. H264 or H265.Do have an older system of theirs and got 5 years out of it. Was H264 as this likely is. Found the old system a bit twitchy with the motion detection. Seemed to pick up the space station over head and then miss people at times. Found setting mine to 24hr recording as well a motion gave me some flexibility. Hence the desire for H265 for the 50% better compression and HDD space. Also stopped getting email notices after a few years. Suspect that wasn't an NVR issue.Next issue was i was wanting to go with the lan option for the cameras by running them all through a router. This setup is not in the manual but after contacting support and jumping through a few hoops, i got it done. Rather easy once you know how and this option should be in the manual.Despite some issues this was worthwhile.

I like everything about this product it works amazing it has 10 channels and its very easy to use very nice style very light weight I like everything about this product I am extremely happy. I use it at my home for security purposes. It's great .
