I believe the only difference is the box between the original Subaru compressor and this one, works good and is very quiet 5 star for sure

I bought 2014 Crosstrek XV brand new. It has always made noise on start up and the A/C was never that great. Very simple install, vacuumed down and recharged. Bought in August and has been blowing right around 48 degrees with no issues. The car sounds better and does not make rattle noise anymore. Time will tell and will update if it quits.

So far so good, fit was right on for my 2015 Subaru Forester , had it done professionally by my mechanic! Shopped all over internet for a couple of weeks, including discount auto parts and Rock auto, and MANY other sites, still $225.00 cheaper at Amazon, even my mechanic said that was a REALLY GREAT price!!
