Amazon.ca Product Description

Mighty-Mini Swivels and Snap Swivels are 100% stainless steel and are 3 x’s stronger than conventional brass swivels of the same size. Smart anglers know that terminal tackle can spook wary game fish. That’s why AFW engineered this line of compact, 100% stainless steel crane swivels to be smaller and stronger than the leading brands of swivels on the market. Now you can use swivels for your rigs, and snap swivels for attaching lures, that are less visible and significantly more powerful. Mighty-Mini Swivels also have less drag and provide enhanced rotation for more strikes. For decades, crane swivels were manufactured from brass because it is a relatively corrosion resistant material and easy to manufacture. Still today, the leading brand of mini swivels continues to use brass bodies with stainless steel rings that cannot match the strength of Mighty Mini Swivels. Recent advances in manufacturing enable us to bring you these revolutionary, smaller and stronger components. Mighty Mini Swivels are available in gunmetal black finish with and without stainless steel tournament-grade snaps for the ultimate in connection protection.

Don't let the diminutive size discourage you from trying these, they are strong. The #7 I ordered, have handled musky up to 44" and rotated freely under load. As noted by another reviewer, they're tiny, but swivels come in standard sizing, so you know how big they are when you buy them. If you need a larger swivel, buy a numerically lower size until you get to 1/0, then they go numerically higher. Eg.#7 is smaller than #5 however #2/0 is small than #3/0, the same progression that applies to a fish hook.

Absolutely amazing value. I used these exclusively for inline swivels within my coyote snares with 1x19 1/16 wire and senneker magnum springs.

These swivels are insanely strong for their size. Very cleanly made.Brilliant for reel on rigs. The #1/0 - 511lb pass the tip rings of most of my boat rods.Be aware, a mono to metal eye connection is heavily compromised when the diameter of the metal eye no longer exceeds the diameter of the mono. The metal will cut through the mono.Be aware, skippers like something they can get their gloves on.

Truly amazing how small and how strong they are, perfect for all phases of fishing. Now if only there were fish to catch.

Simply the best they have never let me down like some other Swivels have,as you can see I use 3 to each gang of hooks so each section has to hold up under stress and these little beauties do.Cheers

As the previous reviewers mentioned, these swivels are incredibly small for their rated strength. If someone had shown me some of the #12 100 lb swivels prior to my purchasing them I would have had a hard time believing that they would test out at more than 25 or 30 lbs. In terms of scale, the 100 lb swivels would fit right in with 10-17 lb mono line/leaders. I have no doubt that tying even 50 lb mono to the #12 swivels will cause your experienced fishing friends to laugh out loud until you prove to them that the swivels are actually rated at twice the strength of the mono!My only concern would be that the tiny eyes on the #12 swivels might actually cut through mono or braid if they are used at or near their rated strength. I also bought a number of the #7 180 lb swivels. They would match up much better in terms of scale with 40-80 lb mono or larger diameter braid. The fit and finish of the swivels is also very good. They seem to be built better than most competing products.Of course, there's always the chance that AFW is grossly over-stating the strength of the swivels, but I doubt it. I'm pretty sure that, if used with line/leader material that doesn't visually and/or physically overwhelm the swivels, there is almost no chance that one of them will ever let go. It should add a degree of confidence knowing that these swivels are very unlikely to ever wind up being the weak link in any chain of terminal tackle.
