I thought this scoop for my cat’s litter box. I wanted one that would get the smaller pieces out, the only issue I find is that it doesn’t sift the litter very well because of the smaller holes. I have a larger scoop for bigger pieces and I use this one for smaller pieces but the trick is just to only scoop small amounts.

This litter scoop has the potential to help sieve the tiny, dirty particles in the litter. The holes seemed to be ideal on the photo; however, the litter would not go through the holes. Now, I am using Freshstep litter for the clumping factor and low powder. Perhaps other litter would go through this scoop more quickly. This did help to scoop up the small, dirty clumps but I had to throw good litter away in process. It really depends I think on the brand you’re using.

I'm sorry to have to leave a negative review, but this product doesn't fulfill its intended purpose. The holes in the plastic are so small that the litter doesn't pass through, and it's impossible to scoop only what you want to remove from the litter box. It doesn't work with any type of cat litter.

Scoop is deep, with deep back and side walls. The walls do not have holes however, so when scooping the debris is falling off the scoop while trying to shake the litter thru the bottom holes. If holes were added on side and back walls the litter could fall thru in each direction.

I went with this scoop bc I wanted a cleaner box for my cat. My cats litter box is wheat clumping litter. I felt like there were smaller clumps that would go through with the regular scoop… this scoop definitely allows the wheat to sift through while retaining the smaller clumps… the downside is that it takes much longer to sift through the litter and clean the box. I feel like I’m panning for gold! Lol. I do like the high side walls of the scoop and overall it is comfortable to hold and feels sturdy. So now I’ve switched to using the regular scoop first and going in with this one after. In reality, I’ve made more work for myself. I guess just be careful what you wish for?

For a normal cat litter it doesn't sift as well. The litter needs to be fine or sandy since the holes are small. It can still work but you have to be patient and slow with it. If only there's a version with a slight bigger holes then that would be perfect for cat litter.

I use this after running through the litter with a big scoop. This is then used to scoop out any tiny bits that fall through the slots of the main cat scoop. Takes a bit of time because the holes are small but they have to be, otherwise the soiled litter will fall right back in.

I bought this scooper coz I needed something with fine holes coz I use a sand litter, however the holes are still big enough that the sands run through it and you won’t have the littler sand clean as you would hope , the other thing it isn’t easy to manoeuvre if you cleaning a closed litter box and your hand is inside

I wanted a scoop that was more fine and could get that's pesky tiny bits of litter for a cleaner box. This does the trick. Keep in mind though, unless you have litter that is fine, it will not sift. Even the one I do use (ARM & HAMMER Clump & Seal Cat Litter and ARM & HAMMER Clump & Seal SLIDE Cat Litter) require a bit of patience to sift. Wish it weren't so fine but gets the job done.
