I always wanted an air compressor and after researching a lot, I decided to go with this brand. I was literally surprised to see or rather hear (lol) how quiet it is. I have a small workshop surrounded by concrete walls (so no sound absorption) and this product is quiet. very impressed and great build quality.

This is my second compressor from California air tools and so far it’s seems just as good as the first one. It was shipped quickly and arrived earlier than the estimate and it was very well packed. It has no leaks, holds pressure, and the auto-drain works correctly. These are quiet, well build compressors, in my experience. My first California Air Tools compressor, a smaller model, is about ten years old now and still going strong. I’ve only had one problem with it which occurred when it was over two years past warranty. A brass fitting in the auto-drain assembly cracked causing it to leak constantly. I contacted customer service looking to buy a replacement fitting, since it was out of warranty. They sent me not one but two new fittings, the second one as a spare in case it failed again, free of charge. I didn’t pay anything for the fittings or postage. You can’t beat that for customer service!

The ground prong of the electrical plug came off, so it trips the GFI on any plug I try to plug into. The website support remains to be seen for service and follow up. Will update when more progress. A call to their office resulted in them telling me to submit a support request online. I did so, right on the edge of warranty, and while it says onscreen that it was received, there was no confirmation email thus far acknowledging that the request was actually received, being processed, nor then any kind of reference number, or otherwise to let me know they really have the request. You'd think today that when a webform asks for your email, that it would send an acknowledgement that it was received, if not also some kind of reference number for follow up.

Big enough to run an air sander with a 5.3 CFM @90 PSI. My mini air sander requires 4 CFM @90 PSI. This is the main reason I got this compressor. It's advertised as "ultra-quiet" but I'd say it's "quieter than other compressors" and not "ultra-quiet." The automatic drain valve seems a little pointless unless you're a shop running this for 8 hours. You should drain the tank using the manual valve at the end of the session anyway, and the automatic valve doesn't help you with that. For most individual owners, I'd say you can skip the automatic drain valve.
