Battery-powered tools have become increasingly common, offering greater convenience—and this grinding tool is no exception. It delivers impressive power, operating with two 24V batteries, so you can keep working even when one battery runs out. Most comparable tools use 20V batteries, making this a clear advantage. The only downside is the higher price compared to non-branded alternatives—unless its durability justifies the extra cost.

I have an old Black and Decker ‘Industrial’ angle grinder that I have used for decades but always found difficult to control. The attached photo shows it next to this VBLIOT angle grinder. The VBLIOT is superior in almost every way. The paddle power switch on the B&D is too easy to activate accidentally, even if you just set it down on a table, and the grinder comes on at full speed, causing the tool to lurch in response. The VBLIOT’s power switch does come across as cheap and I’m not sure that the ability to lock it on is a good idea. At least it can be used at a lower speed although it would be better if the speed was continuously variable so you could start off very slowly and increase the speed gradually. Also making the VBLIOT easier to control is its extra length, the B&D requires you to keep a grip on the paddle and that is close to the output shaft, reducing your leverage. I do think that the B&D has more power but the VBLIOT has enough. One odd thing is that the tool I received has a 5/8” thread rather than the M14 that they advertise. The box also says M14 and other reviewers seem to have gotten M14 tools. I did not think this was possible so I checked it carefully with a proper metric/US thread gauge and by threading on the locking nut from my B&D grinder. I had, in fact, already purchased an adapter (M14 female to 5/8” male) and it did not fit the VBLIOT grinder. I am not complaining about this since it is a big help to me to be able to use the collection of attachments I already own but someone who wants an M14 tool should be careful.I do wish that it came in a proper carrying case rather than a cardboard box but at least that box has foam inside to hold the various components (grinder, batteries, charger et al) and a lid that opens and closes easily and should help the cardboard box last a while to store the tool. I also wish that it used a more common battery or at least let you know what other batteries you could use but, at this price, I don’t really want to complain about these things.

I have a few grinders (angle and die) both corded and cordless. With all you get in this package (grinder, two batteries, charger, accessories) this is marketed for those considering one of the big name brands (the yellow/black, red, or blue brands). It is priced like those bare tool kits.Out of the box the grinder is a bit unbalanced, at least for cutting. The battery seems heavier than other 5.0 Ah batteries. My arms were more fatigued during use. The ergonomics just weren't as nice as my other grinders. Although it was better than the bargain grinders (I have one of those as well). It has most of the common features of those higher end brands, and those are appreciated. The enhanced braking feature seems to be similar to the anti-kickback brake on other grinders. There were a couple of times while cutting metal that the grinder kicked back. The motor stopped and I had to take the trigger lock off and turn it on again. Well done.To test this grinder out, I decided to cutup a small metal frame from a coffee table (I am not sure if it is steel or aluminum). Overall, it had plenty of power to accomplish the job. I used one of my cutting wheels. The only wheel that comes with the grinder is a grinding wheel. Next I decided to grind the metal pieces with the wheel included and it did an okay job. I noticed some vibration with the included wheel that was not present with my wheels. Not a big deal because I would not expect them to put a high quality wheel in the box.I do wish this came in its own plastic case. The foam cutout is nice, but put that into a case.Overall, this grinder will do the job. Whether grinding or cutting, the grinder provides plenty of power. I like the anti-kickback brake, and I wish they had just gone a little further in the balance and adding a case. Overall, a solid grinder.
