Love this controller. Saves me time and effort by setting the heating lamp in the chicken coop to turn on and off at set temps. My chickens are grateful as it does not forget to come on when it gets cold unlike their mama.

Only shows temps and settings in Celsius, but works GREAT!I use mine to run a small supplemental heater in my workshop - maintains a tight temperature tolerance, and was easy to set up

The instructions are spare, but adequate if you take a minute to absorb them. Contrary to what other reviewers said, it is easy as pie to change from Fahrenheit to Centigrade and back. Press the SET button for about 2 seconds. The directions DO say this. I tested it for temp range indoors and it worked perfectly. The back light comes on with the press of any button and it is bright. Even better, it has a small blue light, so you can tell if it is on when using with something that other than a light bulb. You can set it just for a temp range (no timer). This is super easy. If you want to also have that control timed, you can do that, too. Love it so far.

I've had the unit for about a week now and the temperature control has been good. The temp indicated on its panel matches within .2 degrees Fahrenheit the temp I read from a digital thermometer positioned within 3 inches of this unit's sensor. Two things to be aware of: 1.) the unit's control screen is visible only if you are looking at the screen head-on. Trying so see the screen from any oblique angle is not possible. 2.) The unit is large enough so that it may block access to adjacent power plugs === for example plugs on a power strip. These two items are only minor irritants, but they are why I gave only four stars rather than five.

The heating and cooling modes are intuitive and correctly turn on and off at the right temperatures. The plug is relatively small for these types of devices. I appreciate that this is 16-amp, because a lot of these thermostats are much lower amps. If you run anything substantial like a standard electric space heater, you're looking at a minimum of 13 amps, and 1500 watts.
