Be ready to drill out the old rivets and buy 1/4 inch by 1/2 inch bolts with lock washers. Took about an hour to install. Works great

It was a bit tough to install and you must drill out the factory rivets and replace with 1/4 bolts, 3/4 inch long with either lock nuts or use lock washers. About an hour long job.

Besides the fact that they rivet the Lincoln door panel on to get to the regulator, this was a pretty straight forward install. Not a fan of plastic in cars but seems to hold up pretty good. I did notice that after installation it would act as if there was a pinch point at the top of the window and it would close but immediately jump down about a half inch. After some time it reset itself and worked fine. So you might want to try to reset the window after installation.

I purchased this item to replace the passenger-side regulator on my 2006 Mercury Milan. The quality of this item is deeply suspect from multiple standpoints. First of all, the OEM piece was enameled. I am assuming this is more of a corrosion inhibiting choice, rather than looks since the regulator is recessed in the door and can't be seen. The Dorman version appears uncoated or possibly galvanized. Secondly, absolutely no hardware is included with this item. A split-bracket is required to mount this correctly. Damage or bend it while removing the old regulator, and you're out of luck. They do not even provide the pivot bolt that the regulator should attach to. Despite these minor flaws, I could over look them if not for the final drawback - not a single piece of this item has been rolled or deburred to remove sharp edges. The edges and corners are as sharp as a blade, as though the item had been pressed and then snipped from sheet steel with no other treatment. During the installation I sliced my hands to pieces, even taking a sizeable chunk out of index finger. This is a borderline dangerous item that should not be handled without gloves, yet there are absolutely no warnings or the slightest regard taken for the safety of the consumer. Cheap cheap cheap seems to be the order of the day, but it would not surprise me one or more injured consumers are paying the price somewhere for their minor reductions in cost.
