Personally, I would rather not even carry a net but California reg requirement.Most of them are hook magnets and tangle with stuff on my deck every time I set it down.This one I don’t have to really pay attention to what I do with it.I’ve dropped it over and it just floated next to me.It’s in my kayak mostly to me in compliance while onshore and the gaff is the primary way I boat them or reach over and lip ‘em or shake them off.That said, this net of used for everything from a carry bag, loose surface irons and random other stuff I slide under the seat.Basically use it as a junk drawer or to hold bait to calm it down before transferring from sabiki to bait tube.Easier having 6 mackerel in there than going crazy on my deck.When I do use it as a net it’s pretty straight forward and does the netting job well.The net material is easy on the fish tails and slime coat while the handle is easy to grip without slipping.I have no complaints and would buy it again.

I bought this for netting Steelhead in Erie tributaries. It is big enough and seems to be well made. I have not actually netted a fish with it yet but I was able to net a bobber that I lost. I attached it to my vest with a magnet and it stayed in place after hiking 2 miles and after falling in twice it stayed attached and not damaged. Can't wait to actually net a fish with it but I am sure it will be fine. If not I will be back.

Bought this net for wading while fly fishing. Great net, floats and it doesn’t create a lot of drag while floating behind you. Awesome net. Definitely recommend
