  • All position welding, general purpose rod for shallow penetration or in poor fit up conditions
  • Excellent wetting action, yielding smooth and flat beads with steady arc with either ac or dc.
  • Low spatter and excellent slag removal, virtually self cleaning in vertical down fillets
  • Use on all types of mild steel where ease of operation and good appearance is required in all positions, ideal for vertical down welding
  • Use for all types of mild steel fabrication

The Forney 30305 6013 Mild Steel superweld Welding Rod is a mild steel, all-position general purpose rod with medium to shallow penetration. Medium to heavy slag is easily removed. Excellent for poorly fitted joints. Smaller sizes of rod are well suited to low heat on thin metals. 3/32-Inch ie.2.38 mm rod diameter. 5-Pound ie.2.26 kg. 6013 Tensile strength is 60,000 PSI Amperage 40-80 amps AC, DCEN, DCEP Either Polarity. Typical Spec Example E6011: E is for electrode. The next two numbers ie.60, 70 or 80 indicates the tensile strength of the rod for example 60,000. The third number tells the welding position; ie.1=All position ie.2=Flat or Horizontal position ie.4=Flat, Horizontal, Overhead and Vertical Down position. The fourth number indicates the type of current to be used and coating of the rod; ie.0=Cellulose Sodium, with deep penetration, use Direct Current Electrode Positive ie.1=Cellulose Potassium, with deep penetration, use AC or Direct Current Electrode Positive, or Direct Current Electrode Negative ie.3=Titania Potassium, with light penetration, use AC or Direct Current Electrode Positive ie.8=Low Hydrogen, Iron Powder, with medium penetration use AC or Direct Current Electrode Positive. Claims for warranty must be made within 90 days of the date of purchase. Proof of purchase required. This warranty does not cover any product that has been subject to misuse, neglect, negligence or accident, or that has been used in any way contrary to the purpose intended.

These rods are great 6013 is a easy rod to strike up considering stick welding but it is easy to get porosity with these rods but that is a issue with 6013 in general not this rod particularly

Hard to beat at 17$ for 5lbs of 6013 rods. Not the most praised type of rods, but they get the job done, easy to strike an arc (and maintain it) and the slag is somewhat easy to peal. Best bangs for the bucks.

Not bad, really long though. Can cut them in half for easier positioning. Brown instead of the grey I'm used to. Holds a good arc but sometimes hard to strike

Probably the most useful electrodes ive ever purchased. I do a lot welding on thin tube mild steel that is usually slightly rusty or covered in millscale. It cuts through this with ease which is a huge benefit in prep time. Thin mild steel tubing is structurally solid, cheap but some of the most frustrating material to weld. With .060 wall thickness tube, its almost impossible not to blow through the work piece. I found these rods to be the most forgiving in this aspect while still fully penetrating. I can also make significantly longer welds without allowing the piece to cool. Running them on non-digital welder so cant tell you exact amps but its between 58 and 63. I can also leave these in my tool box for weeks and they run as good as new. No moisture sensitivity or storage limitations.
