It's known for smooth arc characteristics, good arc stability and low spatter. Excellent for sheet metal and ornamental iron work on poorly fitted joints. Easy to operate. Excellent for sheet metal and ornamental ironwork on poorly fitted joints. 1/8-Inch ie.3.18 mm diameter rod. 10-Pound ie.4.54 Kg box of rod. Tensile Strength is 70,000 PSI. Amperage range is 110-145 amps. Typical Spec Example E6011: E is for electrode. The next two numbers ie.60, 70 or 80 indicates the tensile strength of the rod for example 60,000. The third number tells the welding position; ie.1=All position ie.2=Flat or Horizontal position ie.4=Flat, Horizontal, Overhead and Vertical Down position. The fourth number indicates the type of current to be used and coating of the rod; ie.0=Cellulose Sodium, with deep penetration, use Direct Current Electrode Positive ie.1=Cellulose Potassium, with deep penetration, use AC or Direct Current Electrode Positive, or Direct Current Electrode Negative ie.3=Titania Potassium, with light penetration, use AC or Direct Current Electrode Positive ie.8=Low Hydrogen, Iron Powder, with medium penetration use AC or Direct Current Electrode Positive. Very nice product can’t go wrong with Forney as they are one of the oldest welding companies around older than Lincoln, that said the arch is very nice and consistent contact is very easy to make as well

No! Not that kind of box... a container... it's a huge container of welding rods... And my welder is under powered for them, but that's not the electrodes fault. Otherwise, they look uniform, and when I can get them to burn, they're alright.

Great stuff runs as good as any other 7014 I have tried and it’s cheap too. Get some of this, some 6011, and you are set for running off an AC buzz box. This 7014 doesn’t run quite as good a Lincoln Excalibur 7018, but it’s cheaper and runs AC while most no 7018 only runs DC current.

I do a lot of do-it-yourself projects. I am not a professional welder but with these babies, you don't have to be. They stay dry and the ark is easily produced, the weld is precise - well, as precise as I am with it! The price is excellent, Amazon delivery is prompt as usual and the rods come in a great box perfect for storing the rods and keeping them dry and ready for use. Amazon has become my number-one stop for welding supplies!

We have purchased this identical product about a year ago and loved it, but this one does not seem to work as well. The formula they use now may be slightly different. I'm not sure. It is still good, just not as good as how they used to make it.

I've been a welder most of my life, although I'm now retired. I've welded Mississippi riverboats-barges (3 years) and trains (23 years), and numerous other international projects and oil refineries. I found the Forney welding rods exceeded my expectations and I would recommend them for any application whether for home, farm or commercial use. I found the rods arc well at different settings and there's little of the sticking issues, and they run a good continuous puddle that's easy to manage for both a strong and good cosmetic appearance in all positions. I had never used Forney welding rods since employers always provided the "old time standards" used by their grandfathers and was very satisfied with taking this chance with the lower cost Forney rods. Even if the prices were equal with that of the old standards, I'd still choose the Forney rods in the future for the strength, ease and appearance of my welds.
