Only my original cap tether had finally given up after 7 years . So instead of waiting for someone to forget putting my gas cap back and me being who knows where that was I gave the old what to I have to loose for the price..well damn glad I took the opportunity to order it,received in Avery timely manner, fit like the original one and no emissions light from the Beemer..Score for me and the vehicle. Sealed like oem click and all.

My check engine light came on. The code said I had a major leak in the evap system. The information I read online suggested that the first thing to do is replace the gas cap. That seemed overly simplistic, but it turned out to be the correct solution. I installed the cap and had the code reset. I have driven my car for over 1,000 miles and the code has not returned. This was a very inexpensive solution to the problem. If you have this problem, this cap is just as effective as the more expensive ones.
