The product is comparable to a similar adapter that you might buy at Lowe’s or The Home Depot, but at twice the price. The problem is that the big box stores only sell the offset version of this adapter, or a 3x4 downspout version. In order to get a straight adapter for a 2x3 downspout you need to buy it from Amazon at $10 each.

This adapter arrived quickly and appears to be well made. The item is exactly as described. I replaced the item today and it fit perfectly. I recommend buying from Hearthshire.

I used this to transition my gutter downspouts into 4" drainage pipes. They fit the 4" pipe well. There was maybe an 1/8-inch clearance around the downspout. The only thing I did not like was that they put there bar code directly on the top piece and it does not come off easily.

The description says "2" X 3" X 4" Styrene Downspout Adapter." Here's the real deal: the rectangular part of it is about 2-1/2" x 3-1/2", so my 2"x3" downspouts fit loosely in the rectangle. Not a huge deal, but just so you know you will NOT get a tight fit to your downspout. The round end says it is 4", and it is exactly the same diameter as standard 4" PVC schedule 40 pipe. The thing is, based on the size of the adapter, I guess I expected it to be the proper diameter for a COUPLING to a 4" pipe (which is slightly larger than a 4" pipe so the 4" pipe will go INTO it), but it's not -- it's the same diameter as a 4" pipe. So be aware that if you use to connect 4" PVC to your downspout, you will need this adapter AND you will also need a 4" PVC coupling piece to connect the round end of this to the end of your 4" PVC pipe (it looks something like this product: lookup ASIN B000BPDJRU). That is to say, your 4" round PVC pipe will NOT fit into the round end of this adapter. Just so you know. All that said, it works OK ... I gave it only 3 stars because (a) I had to get an additional coupling (why didn't they just make the round end coupling size?), and (b) the rectangular end is a fairly loose fit to my downspouts.

I shopped around and purchased a similar adapter at Lowes only to find out that I was not satisfied with it so I returned it. I found these on Amazon so I gave it a shot and ordered several. Once they arrived I loved how the corners were radiused to hug the gutter...these adapters are superior and far less expensive than Lowes or Home Depot!
