In dread filled anticipation of the looming trade war that will deprive us of fine tools at any but the highest prices, I purchased two of these GrenPro 150mm digital calipers. Existing reviews described them as accurate and sturdy, and they are indeed both of those things. The build quality is particularly impressive: The cursor assembly is a machined casting that is exceptionally robust - And the whole is fitted and finished very, very well. The display options include fractions of an inch, down to 1/128, extending it's utility into the realm of the venerable steel scale. The description states that it uses TWO LR44 batteries, but it only uses one, and includes a spare. The supplied batteries are Silver Oxide type, which is an unexpected feature, as Silver Oxide batteries are known for there very long shelflife.
