This is my second purchase of this item. It performed as expected except for one issue. The package was labelled "made in Japan" which should make it a genuine replacement accessory for my Hakko 472 desoldering station. However, the original heating element that came with the unit lasted much longer than the replacement.

This is the second time in 14 months I had to change the heating element. The first replacement saw light use, I say I only got 9 hours of use spread out over the span of 14 months before it died. If this second element dies as quickly as the last one I will be in the market for a whole new machine.
