Fantastic gadget, but I had to change the red and black wire on the CHARGER's tamiyah 🔌 connector (mini) as the male "little pipe" and "little sqaure" on it did not correspond with my BATTERY's " female connector of same type.TIP: if the charger plug's LED flashes RED your POLARITY is wrong (even though the 2 connectors click into each other perfectly !)TIP2: battery is charging will have a STATIC RED which should turn GREEN once fully chargedTip3: a STATIC GREEN may also mean (see pic) that there is nothing being charged at all but it's plugged in...... or I guess (if you have something connected) that the wires of the charger's side is not connecting fully with battery side at all (?) even though the connectors click in perfectly - troubleshoot the wires inside the connectors then maybe (?).Hope the review helps !

There were no instructions, but it's simple to use. Red light means charging, when charging is complete, the led turns green.

I was looking for a charger.I needed for my 1/10th scale fork lift!I saw this one I liked the features and the price was very good!I 'd like to say the charger works very well!I charged a 7.2 volt Nicad in about 1 hours time!Another good feature this charger has it come with different plugs! And you know when it comes to charging batteries. Some times the plug isn't the one you need! All in all a very good charger for the price!

This is a slow charger in the sense, that the current it sends to battery is below 1 amp. Therefore, it is best suited for battery packs below 1,000 mAh.However, I normally prefer slow current charging even for larger batteries.I successfully charged 6cell 4500 mAh NiMH battery with it(this one https://www.amazon.com/Dynamite-SpeedPack-4500mAh-Batteries-Connection/dp/B008MX5X0O )The above battery has EC3 connector, but I have EC3 to Tamyia adapter, and this charger has Tamyia style plug.A per-cell charge of NiMH battery is around 1.44 to 1.5 volts. This charger charged the pack to 8.66V, which means 8.66/6 = 1.44v per cell. Right on the mark (lower side, which is slightly better for longevity).Of course, because the current from the charger is on the long side, it will take a couple of hours to chargesuch a big batteryA proper smart charger must stop charging NiMH battery when it is full, so left the charger connected to the battery for a couple of days. I want to see that the battery did not stay hot and remained room temperature. That was the case.Older style trickle chargers that were first designed for NiCd batteries could easily overcharge NiMH batteries (because they would not cut off current).Because this charger also designed to charge NiCd batteries, I wanted to make sure it did not apply NiCd program to NiMh battery..It passed that test.NiCd battery charge is done well as well, the batteries at the end charge get slightly worm, which is correct for NiCD chemistry batteries.Other things I appreciated:The plugs are connected to the charger via standard 12V 5.5mm x 2.5mm barrel plug.Which means, that the connectors themselves can be taken off (as one bunch), and can be used for other applications, outside the charger(of course, as long as voltage and amperage are within specs assumed). All plugs are 'covered', meaning there are no exposed leads hanging out.The different connectors cover pretty much all batteries I have, with exception of Turnigy/HXT 4mm plug(that's on our Redcat TR10 car)In terms of enhancements, that I would recommend:a) Slightly longer cordb) may be optional switch to allow for slightly higher amps, to charger lager batteries quickerc) a moderate beep, to indicate when charge of NiMh is done.I got this thing as a gift, and now use it pretty often to charge off batteries of without removingthem from the cars.Because the charger is small and portable, I just move around where thecar is, rather than bringing the car to the charger. So that's the utility I did not anticipate, butgood to have.
