I'm was expecting a spiral cutting blade and it's a 2 blade cutter.

I ordered this to compare it to a similar benchtop craftsman jointer. Side by side they are very similar, but the hoteche does have a spiral head cutter while the craftsman does not. While the hoteche does have a spiral head cutter, that is the where the good parts of this jointer end. I would say this is an average jointer and really does not deserve the high price tag that is attached to it. For starters, there are far too many plastic parts on this and after opening a cover on the side, I am very disappointed in the quality of the drive belt as it has far too much play in it and is not really able to be tightened or adjusted. The design of this unit is similar to the craftsman, but I do not think I will be using it going forward as it really is useful for small boards only and unless mounted into a table where you can extend the bed, it is difficult to really use properly. If you are shopping for a benchtop jointer, I would recommend you keep looking as this one falls short in my opinion. It is not horrible, but I can't rate it above 3 stars.

If you're trying to outfit a serious wood shop, this isn't going to be the jointer for you. It's functional and reasonably portable which makes it great for the occasional user, but regular heavy use will likely wear it out because it prioritized economy over absolute quality, which is clear on several levels.By far the worst thing about it was getting it set up. The instructions are so poor as to be unusable so assembly and setup will take a lot longer than they should. Cheap construction similarly made a few of the pieces more difficult to fit together than they ought to be.However, once you have it set up and everything square, it does work reasonably well. Given the cheap construction, I don't think it will last for nearly as many uses as a more professional tool, but if if you only need a jointer on rare occasions, it does get the job done and it does it well. And since it comes at a price so much lower than other jointers I've looked at, I can't really complain too much.

Do not waste your money! Instructions are horrible and cheaply made. The drive belt came off as soon as I turned it on. Oh and not to mention there is no product support.
