Works with ICOM IC-V8 with no problem. It has a little adapter that sits in place while radio with battery is charging or you flip it over to charge just the battery. All those folks saying that it does not fit, obviously did not read what models it is for or do not know how to slide the adapter out and flip it over and put it back in. We call that "operator head space and timing". No issues with these chargers. I bought one to make sure it was correct and worked and then bought the second one later.

It seems to work okay. But right away when I was removing it from the packaging, the plastic insert provided to reduce the amount of space in the charger, the one you would use if you wanted to insert just the battery, broke. It was very flimsy and I did not use excessive force. I was surprised at how easily it broke. I don't need that part though.

I have two aeronautical ICOM handsets, lost one of the chargers. Replacement is as good as lost original.

I purchased this charger and right out of the box it was not working. The Transformer puts out 12 V DC, but once you measure the voltage on the charger, it was only putting out 4.5 V DC. The batteries for this radios use 7.2 V, so it will never charge it. I sent a return request, to get my money back and they sent me a replacement charger instead. The second charger worked for one day, after the first day, it started doing the same thing. Just putting out between 4 and 5 V, which is not enough to charge. This people will not give you your money back. DON'T BUY THIS ITEM

For those who think it doesn't fit, the spacer has a removable section (labeled B and C, and A if it the B and C spacer is unclipped). With the B and C spacer removed, the A spacer fits the entire radio...with the B and C spacer installed, it fits the bare battery without the radio attached. So, as I've been using it, it charges a spare battery, OR the complete radio with the correct spacer installed. It really should have had directions with it, but it was easy to figure out once I noticed the B and C designations on the spacer (I figured there must be an "A" somewhere!), and works perfectly with my Icom IC-A24 and the spare battery I have for it! No more trying to time the charge using the charger that Icom provided with the radio. As someone else said, it even recharged a battery that I thought was dead, as the Icom supplied charger wasn't able to!

I got this for my Icom IC-A24 and it works great. There is a little plastic piece that needs to be removed from the shim for this model to fit correctly in the cradle. The one thing that really bothers me about my A24 is that it does not give you any indication of battery status unless it's almost dead. This charger is great because the green light blinks as it is charging, then stays solid when it is done. I have heard that the battery can be damaged by overcharging, so this feature is very important. The first one I got didn't work for some reason, but their service was very prompt and courteous, and they quickly sent me a new one that works wonderfully.
