I bought a Hardside Waterbed in late 2009. It came with this exact Quantum Thermal Heater. It failed in February 2018 (that's a bit more than 8 years of lifetime). Undaunted, I bought another one at that time, but it has now failed (almost 4 years of lifetime). Buying a third one today would cost me ~$85. This is not the MTBF (mean time between failures) that I expect for this kind of product. Is this what has contributed to the decline in waterbeds?

Appears to be a durable product. Of course with any water bed heater the hardest part is draining the water bed. the actual installation of the heater is easy.

I really hate that I am always asked to rate something I just got. Time is the true test. So far I do like the heater. It was easy to install and it heated up very nicely and maintains a good temperature. Now to just wait and see how well it does over time and how warm it keeps in the winter months!

This product is good seams to work very well. It has been keeping my queen size waterbed at the desired temp. Only thing I think it needs is a small light to see that the thermostat has kicked on, but otherwise a good by. As I'm happy to be back on a water bed that stays warm.

The biggest reason is that it was interchangeable with the old one,we did not have to take the water out of the mattress and it was just so easy to plug the cords in to the new heater and the new control,being elderly that was a big plus.It works great and we are comfortable again.A great product.I would recommend this product whom ever has a waterbed.
