This is a great tool! And, it lives up to its reputation. This impact driver has loosened the tightest screws, and nuts, I've ever tried to work around. (Thankfully, I no longer have to hack-saw these hard-headed fasteners). Only down-side is that Williams didn't put its company name on the tool; curious. I totally recommend this hand impact driver.

Watch out for the snap-ring, its extremely sharp. It cut my hand so much, I did my brakes without it

I bought this one after purchasing the Tekton version and having to return it because it didn’t work. I’m much happier with this JH Williams unit. It works well and smoothly. No clunkiness or looseness In the mechanism. It is considerably more money than the Tekton, especially since it doesn’t come with bits or the bit holder. I felt it was worth the cost since it actually did the job and didn’t strip my screw heads like the Tekton. It’s made in the USA and this is stamped on the handle. When using it, I find it’s helpful to grip the impact driver with some pre-tension in the direction you want it to turn - especially on smaller fasteners. This helps reduce the force of the blow necessary to turn the screw since otherwise the blow both drives the bit into the screw head and turns it at the same time - if you have to hit hard to get it to turn, you might risk deforming the screw head.I did drop one star because the retaining ring on the handle that holds the unit together was extremely sharp on the ends - I cut my hand on it in fact. I suspect it’s manufactured from a ring that is cut and that left sharp burrs. I’m going to have to take it apart and grind the ends - which isn’t a big deal but I felt was disappointing on a tool of this caliber. In the pictures, I’m using a Proto bit holder I also bought on Amazon - works well with this unit despite stating it’s not “impact rated”.

This is the one that works best for me. I have had one for years and worked very well, wanted one for my work place and found out after buying 3 others and returning them, that the descriptions and photos rarely match up to this style. This one will reset itself each time it is hit. All it takes is a little momentum in the direction you want it to turn and it can be hit over and over.
