I like accurate sound and sought these out. If you pay attention to every off sound, then you will need optimal placement. If it is not a huge concern if audio is slightly off, then it can fill a large room or two. My wife can hear it on the other side of our house and it sounds fine. So be in optimal placement when you want accurate, and enjoy them everywhere when you don't.Their EQ dip switches could use better instructions as to what dip 1 2 3 does. They give you pictures and scenarios that you must guess which is the best fit. My advice, start with them off and if you hear weird echos off things, turn some on or buy foam. I found audio sounds better without them on.Another negative is zero information on the Onboard DAC for the fiber connection, but it sounds great, though less colored. I've opted for rca for most things. Also the near field is better than others I've had, but it depends on your equipment as well.The last thing, do these make good multimedia speakers? If you want inaccurate audio with extra bass, these are not for you unless paired with a sub. If you want very accurate audio and are willing to spend a bit of time with settings to get it, these are perfect. Extreme positioning is not required to enjoy them!

I am slowly replacing Sonos in my home with various speakers + Wiim endpoints. This unit + a Wiim mini is a great pair connected via optical. It has several connectivity options (also connected to my TVs optical output). Sounds unreal - much better then a Sonos play five, for almost 200 cheaper. Its not a small speaker, but am very very pleased with the sound!
