What kind of pump built in?
1. Self-protection from running dry
You don’t have to be always on the lookout for running dry since the pump will pay attention to it itself: auto shut down when in low water level to save itself from dry running, meanwhile, turn on the red light to remind you of refilling.
2. With added pump filter and filter holder

I have tried many different water fountains and bowls, you cannot imagine. This is the first time my Persian cat actually drinks out of it and is still using the fountain after several months. Easy to clean. We absolutely love it.

I bought this to encourage my sweet kitty who was recently diagnosed with CKD to drink more water. She likes it. 😊 I’m so happy! It was pretty easy to put together too. I did it myself. And I was worried about it being too noisy as it is in our kitchen/family room area where we spend all our time. It is completely silent except for the sound of a little babbling water that you only notice in complete silence.

I’ve went through 3 fountains and my cats will not drink from any other bowl but a fountain the other fountains I bought in the past all broke down with in 3 months I’ve had this one for 1/12 years and it’s awesome doesn’t get slimy easy to clean and never breaks down the pump is the best and strong

This is the third time I bought the fountain. Its silent, easy to clean and i think its a nice looking design.I only needed another pump since the last one is very weak, but thats another time thing.

EDIT: A year and half later: I accidentally broke the original pump shortly after my first review, the replacement pump is still going strong a year and a half later, but alas the actual plastic bowl part of fountain is leaking. I've always hand cleaned it. At first it was tiny leak and I thought it was possibly me doing it while trying to refill it without opening it up. I would pour water in a circular motion to refill it between cleanings. The bottom part of the fountain separated from the plastic bowl which I guess it's not supposed to do, but it is fine with me, easy to clean, started to notice water in between there so that was why I thought a little bit just of water was coming over the edge while I was refilling. For the next couple of months there was always water in between there. About a month ago there was a good size puddle on the mat I had under the fountain. I thought maybe the cats got a little rowdy and had bumped into it, never seen them do that before around the fountain. I had an oversized steel dog bowl that I started to use under the fountain. For the next couple of weeks nothing major other than the water in between the bottom part and the plastic bowl. The fountain was fine this morning, but this evening there was more water in the steel bowl than was in the fountain. I'm so glad I had that bowl there or my floor would have been covered with water. I still can't quite see where the leak is in the plastic, I don't see any visible cracks, but I know now it's not me or the cats. Thankfully I bought another one of these fountains for a standby awhile back. My cats were upset when I took the broken water fountain away, but they're happy now with this newer one set up. I'm disappointed that the pump lasted longer than the fountain, but will buy another as this is the only fountain that both my cats love.This is the best water fountain that we have tried. Both of my cats love this thing, It's super quiet, very easy to clean. I find it a little bit tricky to get the pump back in just right after cleaning it, but after several attempts I can get it lol. I didn't think the light would do any good so I had it off at first, only saw one cat drinking from it at the time. I had an idea to turn it the light on and now I've seen both cats drinking from it on a regular basis. So I'm guessing it attracts them. It's pretty too when it's lit up. I haven't seen either one of them playing in it, like I have with other fountains, so the water stays pretty clear. I bought an extra water pump just in case, but 2 months of having this fountain, the original pump is still going strong. Well worth the purchase
