  • Large Flange rivets offer a wider bearing surface and are preferred where brittle or soft materials are being assembled to rigid surfaces.
  • Made of low carbon steel and should be used when fastening materials of similar mechanical and physical properties.
  • The steel mandrel is pulled into or against the rivet body, breaking at or near the junction of the mandrel shank and its upset end. The steel mandrel gives this style of rivet greater tensile and shear values than aluminum rivets with aluminum mandrels.
  • A steel blind fastener which has a self contained mechanical feature (a mandrel) which permits the formation of an upset on the blind end of the rivet and expansion of the rivet shank during the setting to join the component parts of an assembly
  • Fastenere branded open end blind pop rivets meet SAE J-1200 Standards which establishes the dimensional, mechanical, and performance requirements of inch and metric break mandrel blind rivets suitable for use in joining the component parts of an assembly.

Open end blind rivets are tubular rivets with a mandrel through the center. The entire rivet assembly is inserted into a hole drilled through the parts to be joined, and a specially designed tool is used to draw the mandrel into the rivet. This expands the blind end of the rivet and snaps off the mandrel.

The rivet will not open like it should instead it just pulls into the base and slides right out. Doesn't work.
