It was perfect for my application. I cut the hole for the box just to the right of the wall stud. I then carved out the area for the box ear. the box secured tightly to the wall stud and is firmly mounted in place. Perfect - Thanks.

Bought one of these to test before I began work on a basement project where we plan to install 5/8" drywall. While technically, you can use this box with 5/8" drywall. It requires you to cut the plastic wing off the side of the box. The box mounting depth from face to wing is 1/2" and not adjustable so it works perfectly for 1/2" drywall. When they say adjustable in the description, they only mean that you can unscrew it and move it to whatever depth you need. They make another box that doesn't have the wing, which I plan to buy.

I had cut a hole that was too big and I had an outlet dangling from a sliver of wood. Was able to replace the box with this one the side screws into the stud made It Rock solid. Great great product

I'm using them in unfinished areas where I need to put some keystones for cat6. easy to mount and sturdy. Good value.
