About this item

  • FOUR FLUTE STEP DRILL BIT - Deflection during cutting is a common problem with ordinary step drills, but our four flute step drill bit is designed to provide greater stability. With improved accuracy and cutting speed, it's perfect for stainless steel drilling and offers several times the service life of ordinary step drills.
  • M35 COBALT HSS - For hard materials, M35 cobalt HSS is the way to go. With its high hardness (HRC 64-66), red hardness, and wear resistance, it's perfect for the toughest jobs. And thanks to proper heat treatment, it boasts higher toughness and bending strength than ordinary high-speed steel.
  • TiAlN COATING - Our TiAlN coating is a cutting-edge material with exceptional properties. It's extremely hard, can withstand high oxidation temperatures, and has excellent thermal hardness. Plus, it boasts strong adhesion, a low friction coefficient, and low thermal conductivity, making it an ideal choice for demanding applications.
  • LARGER CUTTING ANGLE - When it comes to drilling hard materials, the angle of the drill tip matters. That's why we've designed our drill bits with a 135° cutting angle. This angle reduces self-wear and provides a larger stress area, resulting in cleaner, more efficient drilling.
  • Tips - Use these tips to keep your drill in top condition: add cutting oil or spray water to cool during continuous use, the start-up speed will be slower due to the larger cutting angle, any quality problems, please feel free to contact us . We stand behind our products and back them with a 100-day warranty for your peace of mind.

I that like the bit doesn't travel from the contact point in material. Some bit wonder from the place you want to drill. I bought "better" brand bits here on Amazon that are a little more in cost. This bit is a very close second in performance. Now the only step bits I use has four flues. One of the advantages of 4 flutes is more cutting edges per rotation. That helps move the material out and allows for lateral direction cutting. I mean I can drill a hole lets say to 1/4" the lay impact from side to side with force to create a oval hole. Four flute bits seam to last longer and easier penetration. I have used this bit for about one month and drilled about 100 holes in 16 Ga. metal. I have not used it in stainless. I have used this type bit in wood with great results as well.

Works as you’d expect and haven’t had issues out of it yet. Use it for temp probe and static probe holes in 28 gauge duct work so it’s not being put through anything dramatic but does the job

I needed to drill a 1/2 Inch hole. The had to find a drill bit for two more hole, never mind this worked. Have since made several more holes, no bit needed. I’ll use this till it falls apart. May not even be in my life time, at 72.

Four flutes make it fast but also weaken it, if it gets stuck an impact setting will break it
