I shoot a lot of video and record on Blu-Ray. I store all the media in a dark safe place and rarely watch them. I recently reviewed my blu-ray and dvd collection that is all stored in the same container and the same location. One third of my Memorex blu-rays- which pr viously had DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU WANT THE RECORDING TO LASTorked fine- would not play ("disk unreadable") and none older than five years was useable. I tried them on two different players. The DVDs which supposedly have a shorter shelf life were all still working even though many of them were five years older than my oldest Memorex bluray.Don't buy this shoddy product. Fortunately everything is backed up and I will reburn them on Verbatim.

I don't know if Memorex makes their own or this is generic media made in Asia with their label slapped on. Either way, their BD-Rs work just fine, and the price is good.

These discs always work. I've never had a single problem with them. The price is good. I wish it would come in 100 pack, and also 50GB. :)

The advent of affordable BDR blanks is a dream come true for those of us who can never throw away any fragment of our digital history. More to the point, in my experience, Memorex has been the most stable and reliable brand for writable optical disc media since CD-R was introduced in the 1990s. I still have discs from the early days that are readable, which is more than I can say for some other brands. Add to that, the aesthetics of the blue disc top and the nicely rounded edges and it is an all-around winner. Other brands may be a little cheaper, but don't cheat yourself and end up with irrecoverable memories, which happened to me with many non-Memorex DVD-Rs. The capacity is so generous, I am in the process of converting many wallets and spools of older media to one wallet full of BD-Rs.

Given what BluRay original disks cost, backing up your collection is a 'must'. The slightest scratch on a blu-ray can render it unplayable. These disks work well but are single-layer. Some of the heavily-featured BDs sold now are Double Density (50GB) and thus these work well in "some" but not "all" cases as a backup media.

I wrote out my last Verbatim BD-R disk before immediately starting on the Memorex disks. The Verbatim disk burned just fine, and verified just fine. That's what I expected, because all of my 25 25GB BD-R Verbatim disks did great.I am now on Memorex disk #5 of 30. The previous 4 are now useless $1 coasters. I don't have 30 coffee mugs, so perhaps I'll use them as Christmas decorations instead.Avoid this product. Do not buy!I've never had so many disks in a row from a spindle fail to burn. It's incredible. There is another 1-star review of this product which claims that their entire spindle was defective. I have 26 to go, we'll see if I'm just pressing 30 ornaments for the Christmas tree, or if I'll get something good out. At this point, there is no way I'm using these suckers for archiving, even if they do burn all the way.By the way, do not buy! I'm not sure if I mentioned that yet.
