Perfectly fine as a lower-cost rest. But, I was hoping for more of an upgrade to the completely basic one I already had, and it's about the same as far as comfort and playabilityThis does have some additional control and maneuverability of the clamping mechanisms, but they also seem kind of cheap, and I don't expect them to last a long time.4 stars considering the price, but if it were $5 more I would probably pass.

This shoulder rest has a very attractive design and is adjustable, which could make it useful for a violinist who may change sizes as they grow. I found then feet of the rest to not sit flush with the back of my violin, which could cause problems with extended practice time. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to adjust the feet on the rest, but it was able to fit on my 4/4 violin with no problems.
