For what I paid I expected better quality. It feel so light weight. The sound is poor, I have trouble hearing the person on the other end, although everyone says they hear me quite clear. Would have returned it but was okay I guess. Seems landlines have gotten cheap but cost a lot these days.

I bought it "used"; but it seemed to be brand new in the box. I got it for a great price too...Much lower than new.

I got this, because the digital landline phone my mother was using stopped working suddenly. Since the landline phone is essentially just a backup to her mobile phone and she struggled with the small buttons on the old phone (as well as the extra features that were just confusing for her), I decided to go with a simple phone that would still work even when there was no electricity. At $16, this is pretty much perfect for her. Big & readable buttons, 3 programmable numbers, volume on the handset is plenty loud (currently only needing to use the medium setting), and 2 ringer volumes available. The overall quality definitely does not give high-end vibes, but that's not what I was looking for or expecting at this price point. It feels pretty light and definitely has a plasticky feel to it, but it's acceptable to me...best way I can say it is that it looks and feels inexpensive but not "cheap".This was literally plug-and-play on first use. We removed the old phone and the old cable, plugged in the new phone cable (included) to the wall jack and phone, and we were able to make and receive calls without any problems. Only question right now would be durability, so I'll update my review if the phone doesn't hold up to the very limited use it will be going through.

This phone was purchased for a hearing impaired person who did not want to wear a hearing aid while using the phone. The phone has large buttons to easily view and press. There are two programmable speed dial buttons and a third for 911. It has “flash” and “redial” functions. There are three handset volume levels (medium, high, very high) to adjust receiver loudness but the switch is on the back of the phone so it is not convenient to change levels for each call. You are supposed to set the best overall loudness level for your needs and leave it alone but then the audio level is correct for only one user. There are two ringer level choices (low and high) but no “off”. The handset cable length is OK for sitting beside the phone but I replaced it with a longer one to permit more mobility for the person using it. Also, because the phone is so lightweight, you can pull it off a table with the supplied short handset cord. No external power is needed as it derives its power from the landline or cable modem telephone jack. If the modem goes dead in a power failure, the phone will be unusable. I rated it 4 stars because there is no mention of a warranty and the receiver loudness level should be on the face of the phone so each user can adjust it easily. Sometimes the “very high” setting is too high and a little distorted for our liking and other times it is just right depending on the call. Also I would like to turn the ringer off but that option is not available. All that being said, I am still glad we got the phone.
