I wanted something to work with Ooma Telo Premier Service (2 lines). Despite having Line 1 and Line 2 buttons, this phone does not support the Premier second line on Line 2. Set-up was easy enough but this unit was second hand. There was no factory seal on the box (it was actually unopened), several pieces were already put together, there was NO battery and when the phone went through the set-up configuration there was no firmware update. I paid $150 for this unit and expected better.

O ordered this item and 3 handsets. I am returning them all. Apparently they are under warranty but OOMA can't really service their Canadian customers. When the DP1 unit failed, I had to buy another ( at their instructions) and then after receiving it , send them the bill , the call them and argue for an hour to get them to refund the money which will apparently only happen after I ship the faulty DP1 at my expense to California.OH did I mention that their service will not work on most internet providers services unless you can guarantee an Latency of 5 MS or less. Apparently this is only likely to happen if you have fiber optic service. I called another provider xplornet, and their VOIP system worked flawlessly. I also found the OOMA call centre support very poor, somewhat arrogant with absolutely no followup or accountability.

When I use the handset (not speaker phone), people can hear me, but the sound volume from the handset is too low and not very clear, even when turned all the way up. Switching to speakerphone mode, the phone uses the built in microphone on the bottom right side. Immediately, it sounds like a car going down the highway, and then an echo feedback loop starts. I called my cell phone, and had my cell phone on mute (and not on speaker) and when I put the Ooma phone on speakerphone, i could hear what people were talking about. I'll be returning this phone. It is the worst quality sound and most likely made of cheap internal parts. I doubt if it has *any* noise canceling technology inside that even basic Bluetooth headphones have.

This is not Wireless, there is a cord just like any desk phone. The wireless part means it connects to the OOMA base station wirelessly so you only have to plug the phone into power. There is a small battery for the base station, but you wouldn't want to use the phone without the power cord.
