This works well. The knob to adjust focus is stiff but that is a good thing to me. I am replacing a brand new microscope that wouldn't stay in place.

Recently I had gotten my youngest daughter her own microscope and her older sister wanted one as well. Both are heavily engaged in science. I decided to find a second one and came across this one made by OOZSTAR. Now that I have this home, I can tell you that this is a very well designed microscope. Below, I will outline some of the other features that led me to choose this one over other similar ones.*Design: Kids Microscope- 40X-2000X compound microscope- SLides - Fill light- Variety of colors to choose from*Objective lens: achromatic*2 Power configurations*cell phone holder*tweezers*Pipette*dropper*Petri dish*cotton swabs and more*Adjustable viewing angle*Power source: BatteryAll in all, I find that the designer did a nice job in creating this kid friendly/beginner microscope.
