To ensure you don’t harm your furry friend, read the directions thoroughly before using this product. Once you understand how to use it, it’s not too difficult. Our cat had severe matting, so it’s taking us time to remove it. However, this product lives up to its advertised claims. Remember to read the directions carefully.

We have a Norwegian Forest mix cat with a thick undercoat that has always been prone to matting. No matter how often he got brushed with the old wire brush, he still got big clumps that we eventually had to cut away with scissors (not fun for our cat or us).The first time he got "raked" with this device, he must have lost half of his hair. Each pass kept picking up loose hair from his coat. It was only then that we realized how poorly the old brush was working.Our cat absolutely loves getting raked (we use a plucking motion instead of a long sweep, as recommended by manufacturer) and he hasn't developed any new matts since purchasing.This item is wonderful!

I inherited some cats and they had quite a few mats that I have been working on getting out. I was really excited to use this because I have tried a lot of different tools. This one works okay for the most part. I was slightly disappointed because I had them snag a couple times and get stuck and obviously that’s not ideal. I have used it on my dog and it works okay for him. If you have an animal with long textured hair that’s really matted or tangled I would maybe look at other options. I think the product itself was good. I also am not a professional and I was under the impression it had blades that would kind of cut the mats out as you brush without irritating the skin. I may have misunderstood how the product actually worked so my expectations were higher than they probably should have been. I’m rating 4 stars because it’s a good brush but it’s not for what I was doing with it.

So I snuck the new de-matting rake into the bedroom last night and set it where I could reach it. When Taco came for his evening scritches I brought it out and held him so I could try out the rake and see if I could get some of his tangles out.Taco hates the brush. And the nail clippers. When I brush him I get the cold shoulder for days as well as a couple of good scratches. He hides in the closet. But this time was a little different!It seems like the inside edges of this one are super sharp and they slice right through the mats with very little resistance. The part of the outer curve that touches the skin is rounded and blunt. The first strokes I got in pulled a lot of material out of his chest fur (which has a lot of matted undercoat) and he was not happy -- he escaped my clutches and jumped off the bed to hide in the closet.But, unexpectedly, he returned after a few minutes! Then he let me brush his flanks and the backs of his rear legs, slowly retreating towards the end of the bed after each little session, but not quite leaving altogether. We alternated scritches and brushes for a while. Then he fled and I went to sleep.At 6am he was sleeping on my head: apparently the cold nose trick didn't wake me up. So I got the mats and didn't lose a friend. Five stars, good product, would recommend.

I tried this brush and wont get rid of mats and will pull on your animal so bad. Do not recommend it.

Sin ser experto en el tema, creo que para desempeñar mejor su función las navajas deben tener mas filo o en su caso debe especificar que sólo desenreda nudos de pelo leves, la calidad del material es muy buena pero su funcionamiento dejo mucho que desear. No lo recomiendo.
