Doesn’t have a lock to keep it open all the way so it sags when you use it as a foot stool. Nice looking, well made, comfortable, sturdy and lightweight.

It works well enough for a little stool though it's very close to the ground. I bought it to use as a footrest and it doesn't work so well for that. Oh well. Live and learn.

Honestly aside from it being more stable than a folding 3 legged stool, this folding stool isn't too bad but there isn't too much advantage over the added stability. The seat itself sinks down a bit when sat down on, with the legs folding into itself a tiny bit. It isn't unstable nor will it fully close ever, but the leg posts do raise up higher in the process making them kind of uncomfortable. What to do then? Sit with one of the post in between your legs--sit with the stool diagonally placed. Which then is basically a 3-legged stool with extra room in the back that doesn't serve that much purpose, and the extra weight. Or, for children sitting normally still works. So it's a bit awkward to be honest. Not terrible but not great. Finally regarding build quality it is okay. Honestly nothing spectacular... but nothing completely terrible aside from the rivets that form the hinges between the legs. They're abnormally long compared to the assembly, leaving some extra length which allows the parts to have a bit of extra play--not sure this is necessarily a good thing but thankfully it is located somewhere that doesn't catch too much.So overall the product isn't horrible but it isn't that great for adults just because the way the seating position leaves the leg posts raised compared to the seat itself. I would just stick with a 3 legged stool unless you absolutely need the extra stability.

I can understand why this stool would make people think it won't hold weight, but as I said, it's all in the physics.I ordered this wonderful little stool to carry to and from and use in my garden. It's light, it's portable, it's strong as an ox and it easily supported my oversized hind end. I'm 250lbs. Okay fine, 260.The physics are actually pretty simple.... if you push down in the center or put a little bit of weight in the center it's going to force the center down, however, if you put a lot on weight on the entire top, as one does when sitting on it, it forces the corners outward (because of the angels of the support bars) and actually tightens the top, flattening it. Cool eh?So, at the end of the day, this wonderful little stool is a 5 star gem and absolutely perfect for someone like me who needs to carry it around and use it in small spaces. And I hope people will not shy away from trying it out of fear that it can't handle the weight.... it's all in the physics.

Folding chairs and stools have been a staple for us all summer, as we bring them to every outdoor event that our local municipalities have put on.This style in particular is nice, because it's light and small enough to take on a bike, which is how we prefer to get around. You get a protective storage bag, which is always nice to have. The stool simply folds open, and you sit on it. There is no locking mechanism, and it doesn't really need one.I love that you get a little side pouch, but it's not practical enough to put a drink bottle.Sitting on this stool is comfortable for short periods of time, but we still prefer our folding chairs with back rests. At the time of this review, this product is listed at $29.99, which is way too expensive! A highly reputable brand has a similar stool for $20, and folding chairs with back rests are only slightly more than the price of this stool. If it goes on sale for $15, then it's a good deal.
