The hat was just perfect. It was delivered all crumpled up , so I steamed it into shape. I liked the crumpled look better, so I re-crumpled it up again. -Chris

I ordered 2 of these hats, and the general construction quality and materials are exactly what you'd expect in a milspec item. Very sturdy and comfortable. However, one of the hats' chin strap is sewn asymmetrically. One side of the strap is sewn an entire inch forward of where it's sewn on the other side, so you have to wear it crooked if you want the chin strap to line up with your ears. I can fix it with my sewing machine, but it kinda feels like the customer shouldn't have to fix a brand new item due to manufacturing defects. It's for this reason that I rated it 4 out of 5. Fix your quality control and it's easily 5 stars.

Have not worn it yet, but seems to be of decent quality. I tried to steam iron out the wrinkles on it from it's shipping state and it didn't work no matter how much I ironed it.We'll see how it wears when the weather gets a little nicer.

This is a great hat! I have owned many over the years & this one is as close to the military spec Boonie as you can get without getting an actual GI issue. The price is really good. I wear mine when cruising in our convertible - yard work- on the firing range..... well basically everywhere except church! Much better UV protection than a ball cap ( us older guys need to worry about that ) you can't go wrong with this Boonie. The fit for me was perfect !

It doesn't have the green Tyvek-style mil-spec labels sewn into the hat, but as far as I can tell, it is a near perfect copy of my old woodland camo boonie from about 15 yrs ago that was an actual mil-spec hat. The only major shortcoming is the quality of the metal vents. When comparing to my woodland camo boonie, the Propper hat doesn't attach the metal mesh screens in the metal circular rims as securely as in the mil spec hat. However, I doubt the vent screens will fail in any way, since they aren't load bearing, so functionally there should be no issue.

This isn't the nicest quality boonie hat you can buy, but is an amazing value for what you pay. The quality is adequate considering the price. It is not for anyone who is serious about infra-red absorption or something that can take constant abuse. But if you are looking for a decent looking hat to protect you from the sun, like the look of boonies, or don't need true Mil-spec, this hat will serve you well.I also like the width of the brim. It is not extremely wide, but still gives good coverage from the sun.

I had a Military Spec Rothco for some decades after wearing out a Viet Nam era boonie. This Propper is as good as any of them and I think better quality than the Rothco. For my purpose I prefer the khaki....not as hot in the sun when I'm fishing. Good Hat....reasonable price.
