This is a fine tool for a hobbiest. I've used it now 20 times and it does what it's supposed to, how it's supposed to. For comparison Makita is 5 stars this tool is 4. Makita is also 4 times the price :).

My first impressions taking this biscuit joiner out of the box was how heavy and substantial the unit was--I just wasn't expecting that kind of heft for the low price. I held off reviewing the tool until I used it, and it didn't disappoint. I'm not a true woodworker and only needed this for a small project I'm working on, but the setup was straight-forward and simple and I was cutting the biscuit slots within minutes. Everything slotted together nicely and gluing fine as I write this. If you're in the market for a low priced and fairly good quality biscuit joiner for occasional use, this is probably your biscuit joiner.
