Love the temperature differential settings but loses network frequently. WiFi setup poor. I'm a 30 year IT guy and know what I'm doing!

Replaced an old Robertshaw 96xx series heat pump thermostat with this beauty.I needed separate O/B and separate AUX/E terminals bc of an older zone control system.I've always like the feature of being able to tune the swing differential and this one does it 1/10s of a degree.Like others reported, I had network dropping issues but once I made it a static IP/reserved IP on my Eeero, I've never had a problem since. I am baffled at the false battery compartment though!

First thing, had to put a two degree bias in it as it was off that far compared to three different thermometers. Also installed the app and it just goes away as soon as you try to connect to the thermostat…needs a lot of work. Install was easy, looks good, works good with the bias.

the non existent support from the manufacturer to remedy the connectivity causes me to dislike this device and Robert Shaw.

My house HVAC system needs separate O & B connections to operate properly.I have tried Honeywell, Sensi Wifi thermostats and none of them works properly to control the 2 zone system that I have. Finally I did some research and bought this Robertshaw Wifi T-stat from Amazon since the original old school thermostat was made by Robertshaw. I installed it per the instruction and the Wifi T-stat works flawlessly. No issue to connect to Wifi, just a bit tricky for non-tech folks. Although it does not have all the fancy features from Honeywell, Ecobee, Nest, etc. Robertshaw is a reputable and pretty large control company, bravo for them to finally going to the smart T-stat world. Very happy so far. Hope it lasts.

I bought five of these thermostats so I could remotely monitor the temperature in various facilities. When I started buying Robershaw thermostats 15 years ago, I paid over $150 each. These were much cheaper and provide so much more. One unit was defective and the seller replaced it immediately. With today's routers, connecting the unit can be a pain because it only works on 2.4 frequency so you must make sure your router is broadcasting on 2.4 otherwise you will never connect. I had to turn 5.0 OFF before I could get a connection.Very much recommended. The app works great; allows for auto-login to make viewing the various thermostat's statuses very quickly. The app shows whether the unit is on or off; and the current temperature.I do still have problems with some of the thermostats going offline and I haven't figured that out yet, but I still recommend these thermostats.
