This stinger holds 1/8 rods and 5/32 with no problem. Great price too.

No instructions of any type in the box. Solid brass and a strong spring which will easily hold a 1/16" rod and on up. Two small metal accessories came with the holder and there is no instruction regarding their purpose. After pondering the two pieces of metal supplied with the holder, it occurred to me that the copper foil was to help make the connection between the holder and the welding lead. Since the opening is much larger than the welding lead, I made an alloy insert from some 9/16" aluminum rod. I cross-drilled it 8.5mm in line with the electrode set screw, then tapped from the set screw hole into the insert. With the copper foil wrapped around it, the fit was perfect. I drilled another hole lengthwise halfway through the insert for the copper welding lead. The set screw then screws through the brass handle and into the aluminum insert, clamping both the wiring lead and the insert nice and tight. As to the plastic handle, I suppose you could use the radiused steel piece to lie flat in the inside of the plastic handle, but the screw did not seem long enough to tighten it. So, I flipped the piece over and used it as a sort of spring which holds some tension on the plastic handle when the set screw bears against it. I tightened it only enough to make the plastic handle secure. Over-tightening it would eventually cause some damage. A short section of closed-cell foam pipe insulation inside the plastic handle, and a piece of rubber tubing over the welding lead acted as strain relief. Now that it's all done, I am quite satisfied with it. Instructions would sure help!

Seems durable. Like others said only a single screw pushing out on the handle mine was relatively hard to turn like the hole was ovaled so it stays in place if it does come loose will put some blue thread locker on it. NOT A BIG DEAL for $17 better than the brittle plastic on my original one that was cheaply Chinese made. This one feels of better quality even if it’s from China. But didn’t specify if it was.For the price it’s a great value. Not sure it would make it in a commercial environment.Ran 5 6013 1/8” and it was very smooth.Only took about a minute to install and I was back in business.

Stinger is easy to install and built of quality materials. I would have liked to seen a more robust method to affix the insulating handle to the bronze rod clamp. There is a screw that simply pushes from the inside diameter to hold the sleeve in place and I can foresee the sleeve coming loose in the future.Like most things, it will work for the handful of times that I use my stick welder in one year but I recommend you pony up the $$$ for a better one if you intend to use it daily.
