This doesn't come with the locking plug but did come already serviced with gearcase oil. Of the times I have used it it's a powerhouse and powers thru the hardest woods . Great choice but be prepared for the weight it ain't light but is quiet.

Blasts through almost 3" thick hard maple with ease. 60 degree cuts - yup does those too!Made in Chinesia, but not out of Chinesium. It should last.I don't know why Amazon wanted me to rate this saw's thickness and warmth, but if this saw actually had either of those qualities I am sure it would be five stars worth.

I had to cut through 80 feet of concrete block with DIamond saw blades. This Skilsaw got the job done at a fraction of the price of alternative methods. It may have been hard on the machine since it was the first thing we did with it out of the box but thats what SkilSaw is meant for. To work hard and last a long time.It is now being used for the more typical type of work which is cutting wood but it performed extremely well under all conditions.I like this saw and I thin the investment was completely worth it. It actually cuts deeper than my 14 inch Demo Saw.

Awesome saw! Bought for ripping 2 to 3 inch rough fir, goes through like butter. Sight dead on ( usually there are nowhere near the blade. Tracks very straight.

Overall I'm satisfied with this saw for the price. It does two things most circular saws can't: cuts a 60 degree bevel in 2x's, and cuts 6x's in 2 passes. The power, stability, and lack of run-out/wobble in this saw make for very nice cuts. It's a brute to handle, but so are 7 1/4" worm saws.Unfortunately, there are two shortcomings that cost it a star. First, there are no adjustment stops for the 0 and 45 degree bevel. Second, the foot on mine is out of alignment with the blade by almost 1/8", making it impossible to cut against a rip board. I've used Skill circular saws for years so I'm not surprised - I just hoped they might have done better with this model. On the positive side, Skill stuck with a steel foot which doesn't scratch or drag on lumber and like aluminum does. The only decent aluminum foot I've ever used was the nickle plated Hitachi (which appears to have been discontinued). Wake up tool industry! We have stainless clad aluminum cookware - why can't we get a stainless clad aluminum saw foot?
