I mounted these to my Kraftmaid cabinets for in-cabinet outlets. They stick out about 1/2 past the back so I had to cut a rectangle in the drywall plus a little more for the cable but that's ok because I didn't have to worry about hitting a stud.

The best alternative is to move the existing wiring where wiring interfers with the pocket door. This box is not suitable for 3 wire hook up as it does not allow for depth of wires. Plus the pocket door frame would require additional supporting wood slates to accomodate the use of this box. Move the existing wiring and if you need to hire an electrician do so.

These elec boxes were exactly what I wanted and were shipped lightning fast. However, they were over 4 bucks each and when in stock at Lowe's, they're like $1.29.

I was surprised not being able to buy them at Home Depot Canada, Canadian Tire, Reno Dépôt and others: hopefully, they were available at Amazon.ca! I didn't want metal boxes in the travel trailer I am building. Thomas & Betts/Carlon are quality products.

Bought this box to install a plug behind my dishwasher in the kitchen island, it was just the perfect size to ensure my plug could still fit with the dishwasher in place.

Work great if you're adding a socket on brick, cement, cinder block. We have cinderblock walls, these were great to bolt on to the block and add an outlet without it sticking way out from the wall. Regular old work boxes have more room for multiple runs, wire nuts, but these are better choice if you have no way to make box flush with wall.
