I have another brands recessed anchors and they did not work well, I think due to having a spray in liner, making the holes not quite large enough to for those to fit/stay in. I bought these to try and while they don't recess, they installed easily, fit snugly, and will not pull out like the more expensive ones I started with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these, with or without a spray-in liner, unless having them completely recessed is a deal breaker for you.
