Great sander! Difficult to empty the bag- but definitely does the job quickly and efficiently. Handles large areas in a quarter of the time manually sanding does.

Dust collector actually works!!Static charge continually zaps me. Too bad US did away with mandatory three prong plugs on all appliances.There instructions are very important. See photo.Overall, I’m pleased with it. One pass is sufficient and it does not tear drywall or paper. Sandpaper last long time. Did large room with one and half papers.

Purchased the sander to finish sand some drywall patch repairs. I disconnected the bag connecting the hose to a 5gal wet/dry vacuum via a 1 1/4 in hose. I did not want to cover all of the furniture, countertops and appliances etc. Used in this manner it performed outstanding leaving little or no dust anywhere but, on the sanding disk. Had speed setting on 2, and the vac control adj. at 50%. It does have some weight to it, so the included control handle and shoulder strap do make a difference in control. [3min to sand a 24 in x 24 in patch using 180 gr]

Update: Super simple to do warranty claim with WEN, hopefully the last one was just faulty, new one arrived fast and painless. Also was given a free shipping label to return the broken one. Great customer service.Update: reached company, they are going to replace the unit, will keep this updated.Used this for my first project, no issues, took it out again today to use, I get zapped with a strong current whenever I hold the trigger down. This thing can really hurt someone. Sadly Return window is closed since march 25th, will try to reach company.

Worked great for smoothing drywall joints, and for removing overspray of drywall texture. It can get a bit heavy if you're smoothing joints on ceilings. The dust collection was fine, I just connected it to my shop vac. It does not remove drywall texture that's previously been painted because the paint has hardened the texture.I wrote Wen customer service about the reviews that mentioned shocks. This is what they said:Yes its from static electricity. Static discharge is always a problem when sanding, and especially when sanding drywall. Static shocks are more likely and stronger in dry, highly dusty environments. Using a dust collector or vacuum also contributes to static buildup, since the dust is being sucked through the hose. So to mitigate risks of static discharge, please advise users to do the following if you get complaints:- wear rubber gloves when sanding.- purchase a humidifier and use that in the working area. This will increase ambient humidity and decrease the risk of shock. This is generally the best solution.- use increased ventilation in the working area. This will decrease dust concentration and decrease the risk of shock. However, note that using a humidifier and increased ventilation simultaneously is not necessarily a good idea, as the increased ventilation will just take any built-up humidity with it.- purchase and use an anti-static hose for the dust collector; these hoses are specifically designed to mitigate static buildup, but they are relatively expensive.- purchase and use a length of anti-static tinsel- use a length of bare wire wrapped around the dust hose and attach it to a ground point.I wore rubber gloves and had no problems.
