I was looking for a wading staff when I got into wade fishing, so I got this X Carbon Stick - Carbon Fiber Wading Staff. It’s made a noticeable difference in stability and confidence when crossing slippery streams or rocky riverbeds, and it’s light enough to carry all day without adding bulk to my gear.Pros- Carbon fiber construction makes it extremely lightweight yet impressively strong- Folds down compactly for easy storage in a backpack or attached to a belt- Quick and simple assembly, with a secure locking mechanism for stability- Comfortable cork handle provides a solid, non-slip grip even when wet- Includes both a rubber tip and a carbide tip for different terrains- Lanyard and holster included to prevent losing the staff in fast-moving water- Adjustable length to suit different heights and wading depths- Drains water quickly and doesn’t get waterlogged like some metal staffs- Durable enough for regular use on rocky, muddy, or uneven groundCons- Price is higher than basic aluminum or steel wading staffs, but reflects the quality and materials- Cannot be deployed one-handed—requires both hands to assemble and collapse- Tether is plastic and could be stronger for heavy-duty use- Cork handle may wear over time compared to foam or rubber options- Holster and storage bag are basic and unpadded

I'm thoroughly impressed by durability and light weight of this product. The first thing you'll notice is how incredibly light it is—perfect for long sessions without fatigue. Despite its minimal weight, it doesn’t compromise on strength. The carbon construction feels solid and resilient, even during intense use. The stock folds easily. The grip is also comfortable and slip-resistant, which adds to the overall usability. This stick strikes the perfect balance between portability and toughness. It's definitely a great investment if you're looking for performance and reliability in a lightweight package.

This wading stick is really lightweight, which is essential when you're already packing in a lot of fishing gear. You don't want to leave this behind, especially in spring, when water levels and flow can change dramatically from one week to the next.I could not figure out how it worked using the instructions that came with it. The images were too blurry to follow. But one of the customer videos was helpful. You have to pull the second part of the pole down pretty firmly before the spring-loaded locking button pops out. Once you find that, assembling and collapsing the staff takes just a few seconds.Even though a wading stick is a must-have, I’ve avoided buying one because of the price. Many are $200 or more. This one isn’t cheap either, but it’s still much more affordable than the big-name brands I’ve looked at.

This stick is not cheap. No matter how you look at it you will need to ask yourself how much you are willing to spend on a wading stick. Personally, I feel this is worth the price, and here’s why. This wading stick is beautifully designed, beautifully constructed, and even made from excellent materials. Every little detail seems to have been thought out well. The assembly is easy, fast and simple for when your chest deep. The cork handle provides an excellent grip whilst your hands are damp. The foot is nicely designed and should provide good grip on all but the most slippery rocks. Even the carbon fibre pole itself is stiff and feels extremely strong.Above all else this thing is beautifully light for when it’s in your pack, which is most significant because that’s sadly where it will likely spend most of its time. Not because you won’t want to use it, but because the whole point is to be fishing! That’s when you’ll really appreciate the light weight, and the lanyard that comes included and pre attached.Yes it’s expensive, but this is a perfect example of you get what you pay for. When you’re fishing you don’t want to need a wading stick, but when you do need it you’ll be glad you have this thing. When you don’t need it, you likely won’t notice it in your pack or on your person. In case it wasn’t obvious by now I can 100% recommend this wading stick, and it has deservedly earned a permanent home in my wading tackle pack. Save for when I need to use it of course!

It's light and compact but it can't be deployed one handed. I guess it's good that it forces me to have it out before I can head in the current. The wading staff itself feels really nice. it's light and it comes with a holdster. The rubber tip is thick, the handle is soft and the connecting segment are in metal. Unfortunately, the tether is coiled plastic. I wish it was something a bit stronger since I have to let it dangle a lot. Remember it's not something you can deploy or retract one handed.Over all, pretty good.

This is the perfect hiking pole for outdoor adventures. The pole is very light, way lighter than standard aluminum poles. It comes with a carry bag that you can attach to your gear via carabineer, making it extremely convenient. The pole even has an actual cork grip, so much more high end than the plastic or foam you get on aluminum poles! This pole breaks down into three sections that are all connected by a string threaded through the core. This is helpful and handy as you know exactly which segment connects to which end and you'll never lose a segment. The assembled pole has variable length adjustment and is quite strong. One thing to note is that when assembling the pole the is a metal button that pops out and is used to lock the pole into position. You can see this button in the pictures. You have to pull really hard to get the button part of the segment to come out.

Any wading staff that can break down is not going to be as stiff and stable as a single piece wading staff, but they are a lot more convenient to carry. One of the primary advantages of a collapsible staff is keeping it out of the way until you need it, then being able to deploy it with one hand while wading. The mechanism of this staff is clever and works well but it does require two hands to deploy. It is stiffer than another "pop together" staff I have that can be deployed with one hand, but still not as stiff as a one-piece wading stafff. The case it comes with is nicely designed and has a mesh top and grommet with a drain hole at the bottom which is a nice touch. This staff requires a bit of practice to use properly - contrary to another review, the segments are indeed linked together with an inner cord, but unlike a bungee-type system, this requires you to slot the segments together and then extend the top portion until it slides past a spring-loaded button that "pops" into place, locking the staff in its extended position. There is also an adjustable portion at the top that allows you to adjust the height of the staff; probably an unneeded feature for most people, but It makes it more useful if you want to use it as a hiking staff, I suppose. Overall the build quality is very good, and the staff itself is quite lightweight. But just note that it requires two hands to deploy, so you probably won't be pulling it out in the middle of a stream while holding your fly rod in the other hand.

The product does not have an elastic mechanisms, which I was aware of prior to purchasing, so this is all good. Once you understand the assembly and disassembly process, this wading staff offers excellent stability and is extremely lightweight. The aluminum piece at the bottom and carbon fiber component above allows you to navigate through water with a low center of gravity. The cork handle is great and gives more stability even in wet conditions. If you're looking for reliable hardware and are willing to pay a little extra, I highly recommend this product.

I’ve been using this wading staff for a few months now, and have had a chance to use it on many different fishing trips. I’ve dealt with knee and hip problems since being in a car accident a few years ago, and this staff has been amazing to have so I can navigate through rough river conditions. I’ve bought a few other cheaper wading staffs in the past, but after using this one, I won’t be buying anything else. The folding mechanism is really easy to use. I can extend it quickly and easily whenever I need to use it, or I can fold it up and carry it in my pack when not needed. It’s extremely lightweight so it doesn’t add any weight to my pack, but it’s still very strong and sturdy. The premium cork handle is a nice feature too, which makes it comfortable to grip even when wet, compared to the rubber handles that most other cheaper brands use that become slippery when wet. Overall, I’m super happy with this staff, and it’s been a great investment to ensure I can go fishing safely, and comfortably. Definitely a must-have for me, and I bring it with me on every fishing trip.
