The YanTone Universal (27-42mm) inner tie rod end multifunctional rudder wrench tool can come in handy, if you can slide this tool over the part that you wish to remove/install.This type of tool design grips tighter when more rotational force is applied to it. I chose to order the 1/2" drive multifunctional rudder version to see how it would compare to my Duralast 3/8" drive inner tie rod end tool (which looks like a heavy duty muffler clamp with teeth on the inner side of the U-bolt and clamp body). I included a photo in my review of my other tie rod wrench for your reference. This Yantone inner tie rod tool is made of a lighter weight material, thus I doubt that it will hold up as long as my Duralast inner tie rod tool. The 1/2" drive of the Yantone inner tie rod tool allows for torque application from a 1/2" breaker bar.I have to use a 1/2"-3/8" socket adapter with the Duralast inner tie rod tool in order to use my 1/2" breaker bar. This is a small advantage to the Yantone tool, but if you have a "quality" 1/2"-3/8" socket adapter you will not have any issues. The Yantone inner tie rod tool design has some pros and cons when compared to the Duralast inner tie rod tool design. The Yantone tool is basically one piece that you can slide onto the tie rod, while the Duralast tool you can preassemble and slide onto the inner tie rod OR assemble it in place directly over the inner tie rod.The pro to the Yantone tool design is that you do not need to tighten the clamp assemly in what is often found to be a very tight spaced working location. This can be an issue for the Duralast tool design depending upon the vehicle that you are working on.The con to the Yantone design is that you will have to disassemble/remove anything that is larger in diameter than it can slide over. The Duralast tool design does not have this issue since it can be assembled in place.I recommend the YanTone Universal (27-42mm) inner tie rod end multifunctional rudder wrench tool if you can slide it over the inner tie rod ends or other parts that you wish to remove/install.

This tie rod removal tool will get the job done. It is lightweight so its not for the professional, but will be a nice tool for those who like to work on their personal vehicles. I did work well on my mothers Chrysler Town & Country. The only issue is getting it in place to actually have it tighten down on the end of the tie rod.

This Inner Tie Rod Wrench from the YanTone Store on Amazon is intended specifically for removing and installing the inner tie rods on rack & pinion steering. It also says it's a Rudder Wrench for Car Truck Vehicle Motorcycle, but I'm not sure exactly what that means. The tool has a range of 27mm to 42mm, and the design is such that the more force you apply, the tighter it grips. It's kind of like a pipe wrench, but more compact. I tried it on a few things in the shop, and it worked well, without any issues. The tool came in a small cardboard box with no instructions. The listing says it can also be used as a ball joint separator tool or hubcap removal tool. I'd love to see that demonstrated, as I don't see how that's possible. I think I'll deduct a star just for that.

Depending on clearances and access from vehicle to vehicle, sometimes having a different tool gets the job done easier. I like having this option!

Seller shows this tool sliding over the inner tie rod grabbing its larger inside nut/screw.This tool is used to either remove or install the inner tie rod, not to adjust tie rod sleeves. This remover tool grips tighter as you apply more torque with the wrench but I think it can put a little sideward force on the rack too. Be mindful when you use this toolIt can fit over the inside nut/screw of my VW Jetta to remove or install the inner tie rod.I did not like having to remove the tie rod end and protective boot to be able to use this, but if it fits it will work at removing or installing. Use hand tools and not impact tools.I can see it working to help free up rusted drag links or tie rods on larger vehicles IF you can remove at least one end off to allow you to slip this tool on. It will fit onto my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Tie Rod sleeve and Drag Link sleeve.
